An AI-powered powered kinematic facade changes dynamically with the weather
The corporate headquarters for the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), a state-owned public sector company, seats the company’s administration and responds to their growing organisational needs over a six-acre plot. The project comprises three towers: Tower A houses the convention centre, an auditorium, an art gallery and meeting rooms. Tower B houses the headquarters and Tower C is developed for leasing. The leased-out property would contain coworking and recreational facilities, among other positive gains.
A 400-meter-long-skydeck is a unique recreational space among the other strengths of the project in the facade. The project optimises a unique kinetic system consisting of perforated aluminium fins, connected to a motion sensor that responds to the sun’s movement. This feature controls the daylight entering the building and adds beauty and elegance to the facade. An AI-controlled projector animates images onto the connecting bridges using HD projectors. The animation presents itself in various forms and patterns throughout the day. The projection will also be visible on the overhead canopy, turning the entire building into a projection screen. The gold-certified building meets all the requirements associated with green building standards.
