Gulf Adiba, Gurgaon
Offices/ IT Parks
A unique office building with a curvilinear white facade.
Located in suburban NCR near South and West Delhi, the Gulf Adiba is a proposed IT/ ITES office complex located in Udyog Vihar Phase II, Gurugram. Nestled inside a 4000 sq m industrial plot with a permissible ground coverage of 40 %, the 7-storey structure was naturally subdued in nature by virtue of its size.
With a lack of input from the site context and no significant views directing the design direction, the building facade turns the introverted built volume on its head with a rhythmic curvilinear facade spanning above the lintel. The continuous fluid form is inspired by nature and achieves an iconic visual identity with gradual stepped terraces. Spread across seven floors and with a stilted open space, the design frees up the ground floor to bring in light and air circulation.
An east-facing entry court creates landscaped zones away from the neighbouring noise and pollution. The porous ground level allows ample natural light and ventilation into the built volume and illuminates many interactive and recreational spaces in the interiors. The site is planned with Vastu considerations in mind by responding with a northeast entrance and a marked water body. The stepped built-form recedes from South to North, ensuring that all internal courts get sufficient sunlight throughout the day.
