DFI: A RETROSPECTIVE
With half the year gone by, in the month of June, we look back at some of the projects, events and accomplishments that have shaped the first half of 2019 at DFI.
Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Archaeology
Greater Noida
Evocative of a fortress, the building’s scale is imposing—with few windows and stark, solid walls. Chhatris and motifs add symbolic value and visual drama, and in the interiors, brick walls, stone arches and the flooring’s geometric patterns, illuminated by the central skylight atrium, transform the space into an immersive setting resounding with the glory of India’s ancient civilizations.
Microtek Greenburg
Gurugram
The design brief called for a mid-segment luxury residential township, in the heart of the city. Multi-storey towers sit on the periphery of the block, allowing verdant green spaces to thrive. The site planning encompasses several apartment buildings interspersed with a host of amenities, including a clubhouse, two large swimming pools, play areas, and lounges.
Navami Landmaark
Bengaluru
In a nation like ours, where festivals celebrate the spirit of community living, the experience at Navami Landmaark fulfils the joys of sharing spaces and encouraging dialogue amongst residents. With state-of-the-art amenities such as a sky club, terrace lounges, sky gardens, and a serene infinity pool, the condominiums house a cornucopia of health and recreation opportunities, fostering a sense of healthy community living.

Events
Reflecting on his experience designing the New Courts Block, Delhi High Court, our Founding Partner, Architect Goonmeet Singh Chauhan reiterated the significance of a contextual architecture—creating a vocabulary that is rooted in the larger context of being ‘Indian,’ with a special emphasis on colour and material palette, and the interplay of light and shadow. Besides the High Court, he also shared his insights on other notable projects, including the ITO Skywalk and the Helix Tower, a conceptual residential high-rise.
