A glimpse of DFI's ongoing projects
#WorkInProgress
DFI's latest project, the ITO Skywalk (New Delhi) commissioned by PWD, is touted as Delhi’s longest foot over bridge. Catering to more than 30,000 pedestrians on a daily basis, in the absence of free-flowing pedestrian walk ways, the intent is to make a Free on Board (FOB) skywalk, to allocate the mobility flow at the crowded junctions of ITO.
Guwahati International Airport is DFI's most recent, landmark infrastructural project that has won a lot acclaim recently. With an intent is to trigger moments of discovery and togetherness, enhancing user engagement, the design, is infused with the flavors of Assam, the land which is asam (undulating).
Skywalk Dakshineswar (Kolkata), is a state-of-the-art, 380 meters long and 10.5 meters wide skywalk. It creates a connection between the roundabout and the entrance gates of the Dakshineswar Kali temple compound with a provision of 12 escalators, 4 elevators and 8 staircases to allow devotees and users to embark and disembark from the Skywalk.
In line with DFI’s vision to encourage and engage the young architects of the country, DFI hosted a photography competition for students of art and architecture. Radhi Solanki was declared the winner of #DFIPhotographyCompetition. A workshop with national award-winning architectural photographer Andre J Fanthome has been organised for the top ten shortlisted participants.
