Commemorating 2019
Reviewing Values & Visions

“As India marches forward to take its place amongst the comity of great democracies, it must ensure for its citizens – social, gender and economic equity. Its institutions must grow and rise to the complex challenges of a large and diverse nation.”

Goonmeet Singh Chauhan, Founder Partner at DFI

2019 saw urbanism in India undergoing law, policy and framework reformations, and with the year coming to an end, India has witnessed turmoil of events, politically and socially. However, what remains static is the pride and dignity prevailing no matter the situations. At the infrastructure front, the stark rise in heritage continues to position India at the forefront of a great architecturally sustainable nation.

DFI had the lifetime opportunity to participate in some of the nation building endeavors reverend to the futuristic urban contexts. Closing and commencing some major projects, we cultivated and explored a variety of fusion of elements and inclusive strategies aiming to create socially harmonious and economically affordable projects.

Collaborating with some of the best institutions locally, nationally and globally, our meticulous DFI team has worked in the spirit of service and labour of love to create DFI’s reputation as an important stakeholder in the nation development. We were privileged to have been acknowledged and our founding partners were felicitated at various platforms and published media.

We also exercised our brains to create an extensive learning environment with learning sessions organized every month for our employees. The session spearheaded by the eminent architect, urban planner and conservationist A G K Menon was an eye-opener conclave.

Witnessing Mr. Menon talking passionately over the present situations of urbanism and the politics affecting architecture of our country, his discussions left a deep impact as he enlightened our DFI team with the right attitude to possess and realize our responsibilities as architects for betterment of the Nation’s built fabric.
Another interactive session driven by Ar. Goonmet Singh Chauhan, gave insights to the highly inclusive and learning environment for everyone at the firm, helping them challenge the conventional ways of design and thought process with a modern approach for tackling the entire design processes.
Solemnizing the completion of the New Courts Complex at the Delhi High Court, this book commemorates the making of the new annex and traces the history and backdrop of the Civic architecture of Delhi. Putting forward inputs from the experts, and showcasing the evolution of the design brief and its manifestation in the built form, this book brings forth the combination of old and new, the traditional and avant-garde.
